5 Reuben, the firstborn of Israel, the descendants[a] of Reuben: of Hanoch, the clan of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the clan of the Palluites;[b] 6 of Hezron, the clan of the Hezronites;[c] of Carmi, the clan of the Carmites.[d] 7 These are the clans of the Reubenites,[e] and the ones counted of them were forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty.
